macOS blocks any app from reading a handful of protected locations — Mail, Safari data, other apps' containers, Time Machine snapshots — unless it's granted Full Disk Access. Massive Disk scans fine without it, but those folders will show up as inaccessible. Grant access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access; the app's sidebar shows your current status and links straight there.

Because a mistake with a shredder is unrecoverable. Every removal in Massive Disk — from the cleanup queue, Space Savers, Duplicates, or the Applications uninstaller — goes through the Finder's own Trash via FileManager.trashItem. Nothing is ever hard-deleted, so if you change your mind, just pull it back out of the Trash. That's a deliberate trade-off: it's why Massive Disk has no shredder and no "permanently delete" option anywhere.

Anything else the uninstaller flags as risky still requires you to confirm through a System File Warning before it's removed.
